Newtown Home Extension by CplusC Design

The concept generated by a specific client brief and construction systems reinforce the principle that a beautiful home can be a simple nature. Client’s desire for passive thermal approach for building flexibility and this is reflected in the orientation of living space. A page in the middle of the plan encourages the natural ventilation and marks the transition from old to new. Deep roof top garden doors allow the sun into space during the winter and restrict the excessive loading of diesel fuel during the summer months.

Simple material palette honest compliment the approach taken in the construction. Bricks salvaged from the demolition was recycled for new works, the unfinished surface they appear in the detail of the building. Steel frame and concrete floors are expressed through their complete natural state. Finish clear layer on top of plywood on the walls and ceilings provide visual warmth to the room.
