Narrabeen Lagoon Luxury Wooden House by Choi Ropiha Fighera
The Narrabeen house is situated on the shores of Narrabeen Lagoon, luxury houses with wooden walls that have a very beautiful view, the flow of river water into an island crowded with Casuarinas untouched. Designed by reliable architect, Choi Ropiha Fighera.
Instead, the context of the street is mediocre without the slightest of lagoon lining the street outside the house and managed to give a deep impression on the outskirts of town.
From the street, the composition of the house was built around the driveway, entrance and garage as a typical suburban house, but the impact of domestic elements propagated by their fusion into a single architecture and forms of expression. Broad facade detail combined with floating skirts give the house although the proportion of horizontal and dark wood cladding gives the building a ‘stealth’ like appearance, still holding the drama outside the lagoon.
This page was introduced as the primary organizing element for the planning of the main room with all the public house – living room, dining room, kitchen, study and ponds – are grouped around a courtyard to connect the spaces visually and physically when the wall of a page is opened. This arrangement promotes the social dynamics of spatially inclusive and increase chances of the house. This page also has a significant environmental role to bring the sun, light and air into the middle of the house.
Planning consists deliberately isolating its inhabitants from surrounding suburbs to increase the sense of oasis and privateness. This process begins on the streets takes visitors through a succession of exterior space that gradually compress and remove the context of the path through the composition of the fence, full screen and high threshold. The order of entry eventually ended in a solid door in which a sense of intrigue peak. Rather than get into the hall, one arrives at the page where entirely from private domains, lagoons and islands are revealed and a sense of the outside world is removed.
The house also has an unusual arrangement of cross-section is driven partly by the need to lift the interior 1.2m above ground level to protect against flooding, but also by a desire to have an open space with dual aspect – north and south for the sun to see. While this introduces a problem with the scale relationship to his neighbor’s house, allowing the story more interesting relationships between interior and exterior living space occurs. The combination of interaction with the sectional layout of space in relation to the page is what allows the spatial happen – it is possible to view the page, living room, deck next to the lagoon, lagoons and islands in the background in just a vista of research.
